XLIII ONTA Annual Meeting 4-9 September, 2011

The ONTA Executive Committee and the Local Organizing Committee would
like to invite you to participate in the XLIII ONTA Annual Meeting, to be held
in Coimbra (“City of Knowledge”),
Portugal,
from September 4-9, 2011. The Meeting will take place in the Auditorium of the
Central Services of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (Polo II Campus) of
the University of
Coimbra.
This meeting will be an international forum to gather researchers from
around the world, to share and discuss their findings regarding the broad and
interdisciplinary field of Nematology. Therefore, scientific contributions are
expected to cover a variety of topics including systematics, biodiversity,
ecology and novel control strategies of nematode diseases.
Throughout the meeting, we
hope to create an atmosphere where both professionals and students can exchange
ideas and establish working collaborations.
The first part of the week 4-8 September will be dedicated to a
wide variety of scientific sessions and your contribution to the meeting may be either as an oral or poster
presentation. On Thursday, 8 September, there will be a Forum on Pine
Wilt Disease in Europe that is causing serious pine decline in Portugal. On Thursday and Friday (8, 9 September), there will be a
Short Course on entomopathogenic nematodes planned for 25 participants. Abstracts must be received by June 30, 2011 and should be submitted via the ONTA Meeting website http://abis.upc.es/bionta/en. Oral presentations for this meeting can be given in
any of ONTA’s official languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French and English), but
we request that, the abstracts, posters, PowerPoints must be written in
English.
The regular registration fees for ONTA members are: meeting - € 380.00, meeting+short course - € 480.00. These registration costs will cover the lunches,
coffee breaks, field excursion, banquet, welcome receptions and attendance to
all scientific sessions.
The registration fees to attend only the Forum Pine Wilt
Disease or the short course on entomopathogenic nematodes are € 100.00 and € 150.00, respectively.
